How Much Should a Small Business in the UAE Budget for a Website?

9 September 2025

"How much does a website cost?" is a bit like asking how much a car costs — the honest answer is always "it depends," but that isn't very useful when you're trying to plan a budget. Here's a more practical way to think about it.

What actually drives the cost

Three things move the price of a website more than anything else:

  1. Number of pages and features. A five-page site with a contact form costs less than a site with online booking, multiple service pages and a blog.
  2. Whether your brand and content already exist. If you already have a logo, photos and written copy, a lot of the cost of building a site disappears. If those need to be created from scratch, that's a separate project bundled into the price.
  3. Custom design vs. a template. A fully custom design takes longer than adapting a proven template — which isn't a bad thing if your budget is tight, as long as the template is adapted properly rather than left generic.

Where to spend first if your budget is limited

If you have to choose, prioritise in this order:

  • A fast, mobile-friendly site over a feature-heavy one. Most visitors in the UAE will find you on a phone. A slow, cluttered site loses them before they see anything else.
  • Clear contact and enquiry paths over decorative extras. A prominent phone number, WhatsApp link and contact form matter more than animations or a video background.
  • Basic SEO setup over paid advertising. Getting your site structured so it can be found on Google costs little extra at build time, but is expensive to retrofit later.

A simple rule of thumb

Ask any agency (including us) for a fixed price broken into what's included — not a vague "starting from" figure. A proposal that lists exactly what you're getting is a good sign; a single number with no breakdown usually means the scope will "grow" once you've committed.
